    GAB help and opinion

    Hi there....
I just received this badge and I am not sure about finish on this badge...It has bronze look to it and I know how contraversial is GAB in bronze...Or is it tombak with no finish applied?
    THANKS
    Sasha

I see zinc under the paint so I would assume that this has be painted with a bronze paint of some kind.

I cannot comment on the originality of the badge because I dont know GAB's well enough.

      Regards,
      Chris G.

You need to post clear and sharp pictures. For me this is a heavily worn or cleaned brass(tombak) badge, which has no finish left.

THANKS CHRIS AND DANIEL on your replies...It looks like no finish on B.H. MAYER badge as suggested to me earlier...
          THANKS

            Hi Sasha

Did you get this from Detlev a couple of weeks ago? If so it came from my collection and is an original tombak BH Mayer that has a bronze under finish applied to it, silver top coat was never applied.

Is it a trick of the camera or am I the only one that sees greyness around the hinge and catch?

Not sure what it is but I do. Closer shots may help to clear the doubts.
