      Hi guys,

i am not so shure about this one to be honest. The reason of my doubts are that the obverse details are soft comparing to other known originals like the acorns crosshatching and the leaf stippling. The reverse differs from originals in terms of the rifle - no scoped rifle on the reverse on this one. I haven´t studied the JB&Co to rule out if there are rifles that are flat on the reverse of originals though. There are some issues that might be explained from a cast production... present pittings and waste material on strange locations.

Please Hans, show me a period item that features this kind of porous surface and THAT kind of finish.

I fell for the same kind of material and finish on an Assmann piece. Like I wrote on the GCA, I would not buy it. If you note the surface on the shown IAB, you´ll also find the exact match on Staegemeir´s products:

                  Daniel,

i know exactly what you are refering to but just because the surface reminds of the stuff from the Hero it doesn´t automaticly is one... and regarding the surface and IAB in general please re-read what i posted both here and on GCA.

Done sir! And I would also go so far to claim, that the material is not zinc, but rather some alloy of other materials, but never ever zinc...
