        Hi

Something I dislike about this badge is the marking JFS seems to me too right.

The reason the pin is not straight up and down is the catch is slightly bent and twisted, I can not undo the pin because the catch is closed up a bit.
Your picture the badge is at a slight angle and the line you drew is a bit off, not quite centered in the pin....

I know a bunch of members are at the show this weekend, It would be helpful though to get other pics comparing the hinge setup, they are not all going to line up perfectly. We will have to wait for the others to chime in...

about the only difference I can see is that the rivets match a bronze 50 JFS...

I'm still learning about these as well but because no one else has jumped in I will tell you what I think.
The pin looks to wide compared to to others.
The 50 looks a bit off, just not real strong in appearance.
The area around the catch does not look raised.
Catch itself does not look like it has the shear mark lines along the edge you see in other JFS badges. There is a good picture in Durante's CCC book if you have it. I think I have a picture I can find I will try to add this later.

I do hope this is a good badge. I'm just not sure. Remember I'm don't know very much about these. Good luck with it.

Can you show us close ups of both rivets? Some more sharp pictures of the catch (with open pin this time) would be nice. Also dimensions and the weight would be handy.
                    Kind regards,
                    Giel

                      thanks...
had to pry the catch up a bit to be able to release the pin.

some areas of the catch are focused in a bit more to show different detail in different areas...
