    IAB bronze Help please

i found out that a local antique store has got a militaria room so i went to have a gander this afternoon and came away with a bronze IAB everything was fine till i searched the forum and found this post there are a few similarities with the badge that frank posted and i'm now worried, could some one please give me there opinion on this badge as if it is incorrect then i shall strike while the irons hot and take it back tomorrow.
my badge weighs 25g and is 47.1mm wide and 61.15mm high and it is 3.15mm thick it is non magnetic (except for the pin)
    here are some pics

i would be really gratefull if i could have some opinions on this as i really dont want to get stung (again)
    thanks

      Hi Stuart,

well we´ve seen these ones before and I believe it turned into quiet a long thread, some for, some against.

I personally do not like these, I don´t like the lack of detail to the leaves and I don´t like the design of the eagle. I also do not like this type of hardware setup on any badge either, be it IAB, GAB or PAB, there is always something strange about them.

So my opinion was for a bad one but I´m sure somebody will step in who thinks its good, so it will probably be a personal decision in the end.

        Hi Stuart

I'm with Skipy on this on. Don't bother, lots of good unquestionable IAB's arround.

What is this piece made of...is it a very light metal, maybe aluminum?

No, these are not light weight. They are unnaturally flat and thin and made of a modern metal and feel all wrong if you hold them. They turned up in masses about 1 1/2 years ago. They exist in bright silver and this copper finish.
Return it ASAP if you still can.

It has a flat appearance that lacks definition in the details. even if it was/is real there are many better ones out there.

i took it back with no problems, its quite a funny set up there in sofar that there is a room at the top of this antique shop and in the room there are about 8 display cabinets and each of these are rented out by diferent sellers.(who aparantly just pop in from time to time) i checked out an overseas cap in the same cabinet with my keychain uv light and the roundal glowed
they were quite happy to give me a refund but i found a soldbuch and heer aluminium buckle for the same money in a diferent cabinet. both of which seem more promising
so at least it has a happy ending
                    thanks

Good to hear that, Stuart! And good that you have that little keychain blacklight, you cunning fox!
No kidding, it is a great idea. Mine is too big and would make me look like an idiot when carrying it with me on shows. Thank god I am not much of a cloth guy, with a few cloth badges exceptions maybe!
