Badges Quiz

Hi All,
I made this quiz for Philippe and Frank, but you're all welcome to give it a whirl. It goes like this: There are two pictures for each one badge pictured side by side. The first picture will be a close up of the eagles chest always and the picture next to that will be from the same badge but taken from any random spot on the badge. there are 10 badges in total equaling 20 pictures. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is identify what type of badge it is. Philippe and Frank have to identify which type it is as well as the maker .
Hope its fun and not too hard but not too easy. It seems like it would be really hard to me but there are a lot of experts out there.

Hi Sal,

How many weeks do we have to come up with the answers.

This is extemely difficult my friend if not impossible. Without having access to my files this is the best I can do for now.

1. L/53 PAB
2. 25/50 PAB (G.B)
3. Pilot badge (OM)
4. HSF
5. Observer (Assmann)
6. GAB (fo)
7. IAB (RS)
8. KM badge but don't have a clue (maybe HSF but than 4 = minesweeper)
9. Para (Assmann???)
10.Schwerin tombak U-Boat (this was the easiest one)

Will do some more digging tonight.

OK Guys,
First let me say that I was joking when I said Philippe and Frank had to guess the makers because I didn't think it was possible so when you guys started naming makers I had to go back and find which threads I pulled those pictures from. That was a chore! next time I won't make that mistake . OK here goes:

Philippe how could you say the Schwerin U was easiest? The only one I would have gotten would have been the L/53! And Frank letting Philippe do all the work is not exactly fair now is it?(smart though!)

Hi Sal,

You got me there with your IAB, I was sure that it was RS.
On the GAB, Juncker would have been my second choice and I guess my idea to switch 4 & 8 was also correct but the right picture on 8 was very deceptive.

Concerning the Schwerin, that was easy because the feather structure on the eagles chest is unique and by far the worst to be found on any U-boot, but thats just my opinion

Well I don't know how you guys even could tell what kind of badges these were from those tiny pics much less get as many makers correct as you did! Rich, I didn't mean that you couldn't guess makers as well, I was just trying to stump P & F! Who knew it was even possible?!! I'm impressed!

Sorry about that. I can see what you mean though, after putting them up and then Philippe asking about that one, I was comparing the HSF picture to the little ones I posted and for a while I couldn't match the small second picture to the wave area of the badge myself. I started to think I had mixed up pictures or something,... and I'm the guy who croped those in the first place! Well I guess that was a hard quiz seeing as how it was all moderators who participated. I just didn't know, it was the first quiz I ever put up. By the way are you southern Ca.? Are you going to the pomona show? If you are it would be great for me to be able to run items by you to verify authenticity.
