I'll have to have a better look, but on WH badges (IAB) I thought there was a scooped out reverse in the rifle butt.(I dare say there are variations)

Others with more knowledge and experience will comment and I'd advise you to listen to them instead of me, but I will do a search for you.

Hi Phil,

What about the low cross bar on the 'H' is this one sign of a genuine badge, I've just been reading through some old threads, and probably confusing myself more than helping.

Can anyone post a pic of a fake please ?

Hi Marcus,

I vaguely remember that discussion but I'm just relying on my picture files for this badge since the WH IAB is not ammongst my IAB collection. Probably I never bought one because of all the controversy surrounding this maker.

I think sometimes the best thing is to just trust your gut feeling, and make up your own mind. I realy wouldn't mind adding this badge in better condition to my collection.

If memory serves (and it usually does not) the fakes were the WH IAB's with the hinge in a box, not on a pedestal (as this one is). On those, the fakes have square corners to the box, and the originals have rounded corners and semi hollow rifle butts. I believe the fake version is known to have ball-like joints on the eagle's talons.

Here are two varieties. I believe that the one on the right might be a good one. The one on the
left is very high quality, but began showing up en masse about a year ago.

Everything that Lorenzo says is right on this one, the guaranteed good badge is on the right in his picture and he also said why the left type badge is suspicious at least.

I believe CVRC´s badge is ok.
