Gab 50 Rk - Opinion

Hello to all

a friend of mine looking in military badges of Manion's site and he would like to have the GAB 50 RK

He ask to me what I think, if is real or fake, because he knows I have one sure original GAB 50 marked RK bought from personal Scherzer's collection ( one of the biggest old german III reich collector) .

My opinion is to stay away from this badge.
It looks very fine and if you haven't in the hands one sure original you can take it for a real one.

I would like to have your opinions too.


the few wrong points in comparison at mine are:

- the color of eagle
- the bord of number box too large
- the end of knife too peak and his position more hight
- to reverse the different hinge
- the pin must be in the end more thin

the marker is very good looking and is the same of mine
the weight is very closed, mine is gr.34,5
the measurements are differents, mine is 58 x 48,5
the right ear that it closes the hinge doesn't have to reach the edge.

Hope that this can help other ones too.

Without going into details, which you've pretty much covered anyway, I wouldn't want this badge in my collection either.

I'm happy can help our friends in this world, full of reproductions, always more fine made.

From the Manion's pics you can see a different eagle's colour.
The correct colour must be gray-zinc, as you can see in mine above. I don't know in wich metal can be the Manion's one.

Anybody have a badge with this colour in his collection?
