Hi Mark,

I tend to agree with you after comparing the IAB's.

Only problem for me is where to place the massive unmarked badge. If you look at the way the catch is soldered on and if we agree that it is FLL too than would it be logical to conclude that this were the first PAB's FLL produced. Untill now I never found a buntmetall (tombak) hollow PAB with this obverse design.

I dont know what to make of that PAB Phillipe. Perhaps it is an early experimental design matrix for this maker, or prototype?

Curious also that the hollowback silver with the different catch, is using a similiar catch as one used on a FLL Close Combat Clasp.

These type pin assemblies never get me to excited. It is known that such things were bought from outside sources, and judging from the widespread use of this type, he could be what was the norm, with maker buying them from one end of Germany to another.

Something else to consider when dealing with FLL badges..notice the hardware on this IAB, different than anything else here. This tells me that FLL is not stranger to change.

Regarding your solidback PAB, how uncommon is this? Have you ever seen another like it? I really like it.

Hi Mark,

Concerning your FLL IAB I think it shares the same setup than my badge. They only used some more solder on mine to attache the hinge I guess.

Concerning the unmakerd PAB, I know that "Badbob" owns one and not so long ago Matteo sold one to Chet If I remember correctly. They certainly are uncommon but it think that the hollow version is still rarer. I only know of my badge and Jan's in Silver and Frank owns an absolute mint bronze example. the fact that it is mint taken in to account the poor quality of the finish makes it that more special to me. I'm sure he'll post it in this thread when he gets home.

Great Hollow PAB in bronze of this maker , I beleive that this badges are made by Friedrich Linden .

And Thanks to all of You for inputs and pics in this thread . Let hope that someone can post one of this hollow PAB`s in tombak soon .
