Could it be an unmarked Carl Wild or SHu. Co. at a guess, the printers only printing in red !!! Or I'd have a better look it's difficult going back and forth to other threads.

Thats a funny little plate under the hinge, I'll keep looking for you, does the catch open to the left or is the picture the wrong way around.

Doh! It can't be the wrong way around the eagles head etc is facing the correct way.

          Kind regards,

          Marcus

Hi Marcus, I would go with a SchCo made example too judging from the catch. I will dig mine out to compare the fronts.
            Cheers, Ade.

I triple the thought that it is a ShUCo-made badge also.

The shape of the acorns, rib on the bayonet blade, hinge & pin, and eagles head all look identical to my marked example. If we had confirmation that the clasp opens to the left there would be no doubt...

Hi guys, I think that it is everything, but not the SHuCo badge. If it is possible send the images of the SHuCo badge.

In my opinion L/10 is the only maker that uses this exact obverse design. Very characteristic are the "furry" claws and the eagleĀ“s head. The only thing is that the L/10s I have on file (about 4) all have a slightly scooped out reverse (and are marked), while this one has a flat reverse. It looks good though.

I borrowed these pics from Philippe DB.

Would the eagle on this badge be conidered to be "bearded"?

                          Dear Sal,

You could say that, it is a small beard, yes. Bearded eagle is normally used when talking about the Army Para Badges. I guess Prosper and Eric, who wrote the Army Para Badge article on our homepage, created that term.
