    Wiedmann UU IAB info needed

    Hi, can I just get confirmation that Wiedman UU IAB 's like the example at http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...3&highlight=uu are authentic please?
    If so, are versions with this type hardware in Sacha Weber's book?
    Been reading posts related to this type but seems to be differing opinions.

    Hi Vaughan,

    This is an accepted hardware set-up. Sascha's book does include an example of this type badge with the same hardware.

    I still like it.

      The example in the thread you attached is authentic and is referred to as a "Wrap Around hinge" Wiedmann.

      The other solid zinc Wiedmann variants with the mm UU are the so called "Lily Pad hinge" and the "Wide Pin".

        Hi there, thank you for your replies, I was getting a bit confused about this variation. See... http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=weidmann+IAB ...looks the same.
        So the "Africa Hero?" fake is a copy of this variation, and the die flaws are exaggerated?
        The "lily pad hinge" and "wrap around hinge" have different badge dies, I believe, and there is another variation of hardware with smaller "wrap around hinge" plate?
        I'm pretty new at IAB's and still saving for a copy of Weber book.
