Pillow crimp IAB unknown maker - possible maker found?

I was just reading Diopns thread about his recent TR finds in Florida - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=330401&page1

I noticed the Pillow crimp IAB that is listed as an unknown maker. Has anyone ever noticed the similarity of the crimping to that used on some B. H. Mayers L/18 marked wound badges - it looks very very similar - so could B. H. Mayers be the maker?

Below is the rear on one of my L/18 marked SWB's - compare the pillow crimp with that of Dions pillow crimp IAB - what do you think?

    Hi Mike,

sorry but that theory is old news and possible but there are some loose ends that needs to be tighed up to make it stick.

For instance the Pillow crimp IAB don´t match the known hollow ones with the pin makermarked L/18 in design. Furthermore there are 2 known types of hollow IAB´s with that pin mark - the so called B.H.Mayer and a Frank & Reif

Here are some old topics in the matter:

        Hi Mike,

Good thinking though! Indeed, this is ground we have covered before, but as new information comes to light, its always good to refine threories. Keep up the good research!
