    Pioneer Off. Medal grouping

Here is a neat group that recently came out of the woodwork from the fellow's daughter who Immigrated to the US in the early 90s and brought it with her.
The group is from pioneer LT Kurt Schnerrer (1916-1989) There is a lot of stuff in the group but these are the highlights.

    DRL badge with award booklet
SA sport badge and award booklet
    1.October medal with document
    EK2 with document
    EK 1 with document
    Black wound badge with document
    Silver wound badge with document
General assault badge and single-handed tank destruction badge with document
    Letters from Soviet imprisonment 1945-49

Lt Schnerrer saw action beginning in Poland 1939
    1940 France
    1941 Russia
1943 Anti-partisan duty in Hungary and Poland
1944 Southern France and then the Caen front after D-Day.
1945 Returned to the eastern front and entered Soviet imprisonment on May 8 in Czechoslovakia
1945-1949 Interred in 4 different soviet camps
1951-1956 Served with the Kriminal Polizei in Berlin; Western sector
1956-1970 Returned to service as a pioneer officer with the Bundeswehr

There is so much material that I loaded it onto it's own page:

Nice to see a 'lowly' (no KC or famous unit or person just your typical serving officer), grouping not all busted up lets hope it stays together.

                            Hello there,

Love the patina on that DRA badge and the fact that you have the TDB and document is superb!

                            Congrats.
