Gold Presentation CCC? Real or fake? Opinions...

Please let me know what you think of this. I'm not very knowledgeable of the Presentation Gold CCC's. Is this real or a fake? If its real, what are they going for nowadays? Any other opinions or information about the presentation type CCC would be very helpful. I notice there is no maker mark, which makes me skeptical. However I understand that the presentation CCC's had no mark. I really need a more experienced opinion. Thanks. --Mark

    Hi Mark,

Sorry to say, but this is a very common reproduction. It is very unlike original Presentation pieces made by Juncker, although they are always unmarked. This one is shown in my CCC book, Reproduction #5 and in combination with Reproduction #13. These and #7, and the MH fake CCC I think were all made by the same fakers, they just mix up the designs and can be found with F&BL & FLL marks, or unmarked like this one.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

      Hello Mark,

Welcome to the forum. Your badge looks like a reproduction (IMO) -- Reproduction #13 in Tom Durante's book "The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II." This is an excellent reference and one you should have if collecting CCC's.

The finish on the badge doesn't look correct (back looks odd) and the hardware appears to be made out of the same material as the badge.

Mind that I have only one CCC and I do not collect these badges. Other's with more knowledge will certainly respond.

      Regards,
      Eric

Looks like Tom beat me to the response! Sorry Mark.

        Tom,

Thanks for your reply and expertise on this. If only it was real.... :-) I have some other pictures that I'm not too sure of, I will get them posted soon, maybe you can give me an opinion on those as well. Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for the reply, Eric. All help is appreciated. I have some other pictures I would like folks to take a look at, but I dont know how to upload them as an attachment. The posting rules wont allow me to upload attachments. Any help with this? Thanks again!
