    Question about maker for GAB

i recently aquired a nice GAB with an unusual placement of the pin catch..the badge is unmarked and i was wondering if someone could identify the maker by catch placement or perhaps badge design..

    Thanks in advance....

    Hi Richard,

Based upon the obverse design think this is a Wernstein GAB. However I have to admit that I never saw one with this reverse setup.

I believe Souval also had a high placement of the catch.

Up to now we have two makers clearly identified that use this obverse design AND the filled in area under the left wing: Wernstein and Foerster & Barth. Souval has a space under each wing and is therefor not a likely maker of the badge.
Possibly this is a third maker that shared design and the "filled in" characteristic with Wernstein and Foerster & Barth or it is an unusual setup for Wernstein. Foerster & Barth is unlikely because their version was semihollow.
