Have tried a swift search and come up with Sepp Brandner, who was in a STUG III, he was awarded the GAB 100, therefore I would think STUG crews were awarded the GAB. The picture in the group clearly shows the PAB? Could he have been posted to a Panzer group at some time?

Yes he is dead. It looks like a field mantel to me. Look next to him you can see his bayo-

I don't think it's his bayo... it looks like a body with a belt and a bayo.
Did they bury the dead with all their gear? I always thought it went back to circulation among other soldiers.

It's a really strange uniforms he is wearing. Never seen one like it... i think
