Frank & Reif Panzer Assault Badge

Please check out these pictures a give me your considered opinions of this item. As you will see it's a mint Panzer Assault Badge in silver by Frank & Reif in box of issue.

    <a href= "http://www.crossswordmilitaria.com/PAB/pab_front.jpg">Front of badge</a>
    <a href="http://www.crossswordmilitaria.com/PAB/pab_pin_closed.jpg">Back of badge</a>
    <a href="http://www.crossswordmilitaria.com/PAB/pa_pin_up.jpg">Pin up</a>

The swastika looks distorted because of the slight angle of the camera. I assure you it is more <a href="http://www.crossswordmilitaria.com/PAB/pab_swas.jpg">symmetrical then it looks.</a>

What is the current value of a mint/boxed PAB by this maker?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Wow, beautiful badge, and I cant see anything wrong with it other than its not in my collection!

    Nice find!

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

Heck, that beauty should be used for the PAB avatar!

I guess, as always, that the value is whatever you want to give for it. I've never had a case for the PAB, but I gave $150 for a Hermann Aurich PAB in just about the same shape as your F&R (except finish a little duller) cause that's my favorite maker and I wanted it.

Thanks gents. This badge was the first PAB I ever got - about 30 years ago! I picked it up at a local flea market that was, for it's time, a gold mine for vet acquistions

A couple of us young kids set up a table with our collective items on it. When the WWII vets, or even their wives, walked by they couldn't resist telling their stories of the war and talking about the items they brough back. Of course we told them if they were ever iterested in parting with them, we would be here in the same spot next month.

I remember meeting a certain old WWI vet there that invited me over to his house to get some items he brought back. I got a beautiful patriotic Iron Cross glass and a mint ribbon bar on the issue cardboard for a couple of bucks. Nothing fantastic, but a very pleasent talk with a gentleman from a generation that has now passed on. Now that was treasure!
