              Hello Andy,

              they are all good.

              1. GWL, zinc
              2. RK, tombak
              3. Wurster, zinc

GABs were issued in silver only.

Hi Andy, the 1.9.1 is tombak. The Wurster looks to be a 1.17.2 & the other could be a 1.6.1 GW. Which side does the catch open? It may have been re-attached. Stewy

                  Hi Andy

Do you have any side shots of the GWL catch. It does look strange and the base of the catch does not have the usual uniform shape. Maybe it has been replaced as Stewy pointed out.

                  cheers

Hi Graeme,if it is a replacement it should still open to the right. Because due to the shape of the catch it can only be attached one way round. Stewy

If it is a replacement, anything could have been used. In this case it all looks wrong. The examples that I have seen all have catches that open to the right and they do not have any twist in the upright part of the catch. Add to that the sloppy soldering and the strange base shape and it makes me feel that someone has made one of their own....

If it was the case that the original catch had been reattached then it would open to the right and this is not the case.

                      cheers

Sorry Graeme, that's what i'm trying to say. For it to open to the left,i can't think of an example for this style of catch. Do you think it was a bit of a garden shed repair? As you say the solderings not the best. Stewy
