    Thank you!

                  Hi Roy,

this piece is a controversial piece.

it looks nice at first, but if we look it closed we can see some important differences from known unmarked - JFS - pieces. Sure it has done from different dies, wreath and panzer.

till today I have no notices they have done a variant.

                    Look at the back of...

... the swastika, doesn't look like any of the JFS marked/unmarked I've seen?? Or, am I just noticing that dished-out stamping for the first time??

Thank you for your feedback gentlemen!

Ivan, is the badge posted here different from the one posted on the following thread?

They look the same to me, and it got a unanimous thumbs-up.

                            Hi,

Personally I have no major problems with this example from the images presented. My only ? first impression was that the catch was a bit too narrow - an oblique shot of the catch taken from the bottom of the badge would help here.

There are two original types of catch crimping method that I've encountered on unmarked badges, and this catchmound is of the NON-JFS type. Wreath and tank details should be pretty much the same for both types. If the detailing is good and the dimensions are about right, I think it's genuine.

There is a 50 of this type - with provenance - in Hormann's "Uniforms of the Panzer Troops" and my own 25 example came from the estate of a US vet.

                            Regards
                            Mike K
