    Badge grouping - vet acquired

Just got these in from the vet's son. I thought it was interesting to see what kinds of badges and makers were in this grouping.

    From the top, left:
    - 4 WH IAB's Each of these is the kind with the rounded hinge and hollow rifle butt
    - 2 WH IAB's These are the kind with the square hinge on a pedestal
    - 4 unmarked IAB's, all have the catch opening to the left and I think they are ShuCo made
    - 3 black unmarked WB's, all seem to have been cleaned or polished
    - Silver WB marked 28
    - Silver WB marked 100 I think
    - 2 wurster GAB's
    - 1 Assman "2" GAB
    - 1 JFS CCC

          Hi Harry,

Wow, thats a nice little grouping you have there! The JFS looks like a nice original with lots of finish left. The trimmer was set a little off, and trimmed out the motif weird, but other than that it looks textbook on the obverse.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Tom, yes it has virtually all of it's finish left. Downside is that several of these seem to have incurred a bit of water damage. The CCC has some rust on the front of the backplate, and a bit on the hinge.

                Harry, looks great, nice find.

Any chance of a reverse picture of the Wound Badges?

Excellent find. It is nice to see that there are still militaria to be found from vets and their family.

It wouldn´t suprise me if these were not directly "robbed from Germans" but more likely came out of a store, probably an Infantry regiment or something. I come to this assumption in that they are all in very good condition and several badges of the same maker and type.

                          A very nice find BTW:

Thanks again for the input guys. Interesting theory Markus, but several of the badges have broken catches which I would think is from them being yanked off of a uniform.

Someone requested pics of the wound badges. They are all up on the estand now with detailed pics.

Lucky boy Harry !! Wow !!

                              Very nice find.

I agree with Markus, several groups of makers in the find, IMO very likely to have been found at one time... The bent catches on the SHuCo style IABs are not bent enough to have been caused by ripping off uniforms.
The couple of other badges with broken hardware could have occurred anytime in the last 60+ years

                              cheers
