GAB on Detlev's site

Hi,

Out of interest did anybody see the hollow GAB on Detlev's weekly update (it is sold). Now I am not entirely sure and correct me if I am wrong but is that not the hollow GAB that featured in Frank's book that has since been declared a fake. It is also featured in the fake GAB section of this site. I am curious if it is as I have one of these badges (had it for 6 years) and I recently went to trade it from a reputable dealer who said this is a fake that was made in England. I value Detlev's opinion and would really like to know if this badge is a fake or not. I remember a year or two before Franks book was released both he and several other collectors regarded highly these hollow GABs. Opinion please.

Hi Phil,

I am pretty sure that Detlev's GAB and the Fake in Frank's book are not the same. Detlev's looks to be a BH Mayer/F&R and in my opinion totally original.

On the other hand, the Unknown Maker #2 is still known to be a fake and you are correct, it is supposidly made in England.
