    PAB Feldwebel PzGrenRgt 74

    Hello!
Am I right, that this is a Porsche/Juncker PAB?
    ( You´d better say "yes", cause I learned from you ;-) )

    Here´s the whole inheritance:

                  Feldwebel´s 2nd PAB

Is the maker of "AS in a triangle" Adolf Scholze?

Anyway, this is the second Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze of my Pzgren-Feldwebel...

Is it right, that the Porsche is an earlier issue, than this one?

                        Hi Solkors,

The maker of the AS in triangle badges is currently still unknown. The thought is that the different variations of A.S. represent Scholze.

While it's more likely that the Juncker PAB was made earlier in the war than the AS in triangle shown here, I don't think that could be taken as conclusive evidence that the soldier received the Juncker earlier ... it could have been in some unit's inventory stocks for issue for a long time. Just a possibility.

An absolutely stunning grouping! I'm still wondering - he must have been in an Aufklaerungs unit in his Regiment at some point, else why did he receive the PAB instead of IAB in Bronze?

                        Best,
                        Greg

                            Thanks, Greg and stewy!

From 6/1/1940 members of Panzergrenadier-Regimenter, Kradschützen-Bataillone and Panzerspäheinheiten could obtain the PAB in bronce, when belonging to a PzDiv.

Do you (our anybody) know, if it was common to get more then one item of the same award - for different tunics?

                            Regards,

Oh, of course, I should know that! Greg

I don't know if it was common to be issued more than one, but he could have bought another one from an LDO-licensed retail shop.
