Hi Harry

Well IMO not such a lovely zincer. I know these tend to have thick finishes and quite often bubbling, but there appears to be a lot of "corroded" areas that have caused loss of detail.

Check out both ends of the bayonet and grenade, some of the leaves and tops of the eagle wings. Harry could the ends of the bayonet and grenade be refinished? Those areas look pitted or corroded.

Then there is a lack of detail on the acorns and complete lack of detail to the eagles face.

And the catch looks repaired/replaced to me.

Thanks for the input everyone. I've looked this over with a loupe and there are a few areas of minor corrosion. But the face is in good shape, I think my camera was just out of focus there. I do not think any part was refinished as the finish is consistent and missing on the high parts as one would expect. Not sure about the catch, I suppose it is possible it has been replaced or repaired.
