Here is the scan of my SHuCo IAB with the "non-cut" hinge.
    http://lbmilitaria.homestead.com/files/iabshuco2.JPG
It has the round-wire catch facing left, same as the conventional badge.
The badge weighs 25.6 grams compared to my conventional SHuCo that weighs 27.5 grams. It is zinc with honest zincpesting. It also has better details to the oakleaves than the other badge. Interesting is that the mark is placed higher on the badge and is almost obliterated by the soldering around the hinge. It also has a curious second mark stamped into the badge. I believe that the badge is a good one and possibly an earlier type.

        Hi Tim,

You sure have a strange style of communicating and that maybe was part of the reason you felt you were in the "twilight zone"

I think your last respons addressed to Pascal is more proof of this. Those are comments you make in a PM but not on the Forum.

We all talke directly to one another here and don't address one person in public to talk about other members.

        Just my 2 cents worth

I find the information about ShuCo IAB's in this thread very interesting, especially since I just picked up a bronze one at a military show in St Paul Minnesota today.

It has some identical traits of some of the badges shown already: Left opening clasp, same eagle's "scowl", the pebbling on the oak leaves, lettering- but it has the non-beveled hinge.

I looked at and held a lot of IAB's today- this one feels "right" to me. Let me know what you think about it.

            I like it

            Hi John,

I like your badge, especially since it's like the one I own that I posted . It's one of my favorite badges because of its great detail and heavy weight.

Hi gays, once I bought of about 20 s.h.u co IABS from guy, who founded the box with shuco and GWL badges in Russia on battlefield. Later I have seen not once SHuCo badges here (may be they were from one and the same source). And I must to say that all badges which I have seen had the construction shown Frank as original. Sometimes they had right or left catches, with or without maker mark, but allways in silver and had the construction like on the Franks photo. I have never see bronze ShuCo IABs and never see the construction like on the Pascal photo. Sorry I think it is fake

Can´t agree with you on that Sergey, sorry. I´m pretty sure that SCHuCO used different hardwear setups and although they are mostly with hooks opening to the left I have also seen acceptable pieces that opened to the right.

                  Skip your absolutely correct.

Why would Shuco all of a sudden be the only maker that never changed his setup.

Sergey the fact that you once found a box with Shuco IAB's only proofs that all these badges came from the same production run and perfectly explains why the all had the same setup.

If you want to see a strange setup on an original Shuco look at the one Matteo offered last week on the e-stand

Hi gays, May be it is so, may be not. But all SHuCo badges which I have seen looks like on the photo of original badge, shown by Frank and I never see the badges like on the Pascals and Matteos photos. I think you understand which Item I would prefer to buy in this case.
