    Strange Panzer assault

I've been all over the forum but haven't been able to find any reference to this.

First I thought it was a hack-job but the cut-out portion really appears to have been made that way.

Has anybody seen one like it? Any Idea what was the reason?

Ken, do a search for cutout PABs. Some units did this early on after they received them. It was not a factory modification but done by the soldiers. The african hero has some very good fakes of this style cutout pab.

Don, have you checked out that cut out? The silver finish of the badge covers the places were it was cut!

On top of that this is a very rare hollow silver Wurster, thanks for showing Ken
      Kind regards,

I saw that Giel. I thought it looked Wursterish but figured what is the chance of that? Unfortunately I'm putting in 14 hour days right now so I end up running thru this place when I can. Plus the kneipe has been a pain lately.

Yes, that is why I thought it to be so unusual. I have seen other badges that were modified by cut-outs done by the individual. Thanks for your comments gentlemen.

By the way; Scott: I checked out your collection display. It's fantastic!

Giel, what finish would be on a nickle-silver pab? The metal would be the same color all the way through. Or do you believe it is tombak with a silver plated finish?
