Close Combat Clasp in cloth ?

    Hello,

I'm posting these pic's on behalf of forum member Roman, a cloth CCC.

I've never heard of one of these, I'm not convinced by the stitching at the rear either............but I really wouldn't know.

Could this be a private purchase example? I'm sure Roman will appreciate all honest answers and opinions.

    Kind regards,

    Marcus

      Hi Roman,

Here is one of the same pattern. Personally, I do not like those since I have seen quite a few by now, but never in a period photograph.

Albert has one in his collection that I handled one time. If memory doesn´t fail me it looked a bit more believable than those types, but when we talked about it, Albert and me did not know for sure if it was possibly an original award.
The CCC pictured is not Albert´s, just one I saved from some auction.

      Cheers, Frank

              Dear Marcus,

One thing that is remarkable (and suspicious) is that these only show up in bronze grade, never e.g. in silver grade. So the question has to be posed, "if this was an unofficial yet possible way to wear a CCC, why never in silver grade?"

              Cheers, Frank

I've always wondered if they've existed because in the past I have asked here if the CCC in cloth is a fantasy item and I did not get a definite answer. Here's a CCC in Cloth Silver that I have.

There was a try with mousegrey cloth, printed with silvergrey and black details.

So it is for sure that this badges in cloth did not exist at the time?

                        Embroidered Combat Flying Clasp Authorized

I'm a little late on this thread but it may be possible that the CCC did exist in cloth. I was looking up some information on a LW Combat Flying Clasp in the book "Medals & Decorations of The Third Reich" by Heinrich Doehle, and I read a statement that said the wearing of an embroidered Combat Flying Clasp was authorized. So if this is true for this award then why not a cloth version of the CCC? Has anyone seen an embroidered Combat Flying Clasp?

To my knowledge, LW clasps in bullion exist only for Recon and bomber
