    Panzer Assault badge 50??

    Hi All,

Did BSW make a late war Panzer Assault badge (50)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Bill,

Does not sound promising. Without even seeing it, I would have to say .

    Best regards,

        Hi Brannow,

They are definately not one of the known makers. But, post some good closeup pics, its always good to do that.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

          HI Guys,

Sorry for the delay. Here is a link to the badges being offered to me. Sorry about posting a link but I just don't have the time to post the pics individually.

Thanks and please let me know if any of the others have a chance too??

I wish all fakes were this easy to spot.

The Infantry Assault Badge looks to me like it could be a badly deteriorated original, but hard to tell for sure based on the pictures alone. The others are definitely crude fakes.
That 50 Panzer Badge is actually the work of Sean Barry Weske. Notice that the logo is not the proper BSW in an upside down cloverleaf, but rather his own initials: SBW in a rightside up cloverleaf. He was a British actor that ended up working in Hollywood as a photographer and technical advisor. He had a large number of badges produced that were intended to be used as film props for war movies.
Here is a link to some info about him. (Read the last paragraph of his biography.)

                    Badges

Interesting how they have the same color rust in the exact same spot on hinges on some of the badges almost if sprayed with something to age them.

Thanks! I suspected they were bad but figured I had better check.
