Its always better not to polute the topic with so many images and let´s focus in the first one.
This medal have almost all the caracters of a real one - and some doubts at the back because the ring and the down portions looks odd.
Almost all the ss medals copies are very poor and i have never seen one so good as this one. Because of it, until now, IMO this example is an original one.
A few pics with more light will help to confirm it.
My sugestion:
Its yours? Nice, keep it.
Thinking in buying this one? Better wait for a text book example.Last edited by clevischi; 08-27-2008, 06:43 PM.

No problem.
I am not offended. Its always better to teach the "search" function.
The first thing to learn about this medals is that they have only two makers:
Deschler
Petz & Lorenz
According Mr. Lumsden, there are not sure who made what, but most believe that the first model you showed is a P & L and the second one, posted by Peter is a Deschler - the same maker of the first model showed here.

mine is the same as jagdpanthers medal except more worn. Look at the tooling around the 4 on each side of the one leg, and boardering ther, and across the bottom edge, you can just see it has been worked with a tool to stipple it as mine is. also the paint on mine is more worn on the bottm inside edges, and the ridged ring hook. Yep id say both same maker. Mine is more worn on the riged ring loop , and I really like the jagdpanthers medal. His has most all the painted surface.hasthe faceted SS stuled runes, not squarish . Does anyone see the markings i am referring to, or is this going to be like the wasp on the IAB stock . juoneen. ill try an remember to add some better shots asap.been tied up lately.with work.thanks for trying under these poor conditions.juoneen
