    Hello,

    You all know how crazy I am after everything that is Glider related and during my recent years I have had the pleasure to know quite a few Glider piltos etc ... + whenever I have the time I just love to visit them .

    Some times you are lucky and they have some stuff left => here is a piece from a friend I know for about 3 years now etc ... and he always said he had his badge somwhere but could never ever find it ( happens quite a few times ) , today however I received a package with a very nice message from my friend that he finally found his original awarded badge back and that he gave it towards me for my humble Glider collection .

    This glider pilot was a instructor with the Erg.Gruppe ( S ) 2 during 1941/42 and did see quite some combat action in afrika with teh LW feldregt. " Barenthin ", he was very seriously wounded ( by a explosive bulet ) and did make it back towards his homeland only to recover from his wounds and end up as a platoon leader in Holland and become a POW .

    And here it is => a perfect and genuine C.E.Juncker made Buntmetall glider pilots badge in near perfect condition , OHHHHHHH i just love these guys and their badges + I will certainly provide this little treasure a good home

    Enjoy,

      Sometimes one gets indeed lucky. You are a very lucky guy. Congratulations Stijn. This is indeed a beauty and I’m sure there isn’t a better place for this truly magnificent piece then in your collection.

        Stijn,

        A textbook badge straight from the wearer with full history and going to a great home - and no dealers involved! It can't get any better than that! Congratulations.

            Excellent Stijn,

            "Donated" badges are the ones that provide the most fun in anybody´s collection, I even value wound badges if I know they are from the person that gave them to me.

            Cheers, Frank

              * Iron cross 2 nd class ( early 1943 => for the capturing of a US Halftrack + bringing it towards the own lines under heavy hostile fire )

              * Iron cross 1 e class ( for holding US troops of for about a week in the area of mateur , he was the only survivor from his Mortar grouping => the otehr 5 fellows where all KIA during that day : 27.04.1943 + he was heavely wounded )

              * Wound badge black ( for the above named wound )

              * erdkampfabzeichen

              * Cufftitle " afrika "

              He finished the war as a leutnant, etc ...
