    IAB L/10 Deschler & Sohn

    Hi Guys,

I thought this little fellow deserved a little parade in front of an entousiastic audience for being such a surviver.

IMO these L/10 are one of the rarer IAB. This is a beautyfull example of what is in fact a low quality IAB. When you do find one mostly they lost all of their finish, this one retains more than 95% of it's original silver wash.

The best way to recognize a good one is to focus on the claws. For sure one of the better artistic efforts to capture the beauty of an eagles leg on an IAB.

Hope you like the littel bugger as much as I do.

Great Philippe, I almost didn´t recognize the badge again! What a difference a good scan makes. Congratulations!

                heres a thought

the catch opens to the right just like the daisy panzer badge...also has the same attachment plate as the daisy...the hinge is damn close if not the same also....i think this is another confirmation that deschler made these panzer badges....(along with the packet marked L/10 i just got with one)

                  Hi Mike,

So you'll be aible to compare hinge and catch on this one to your Diasy PAB I'll post two detailed scans.

The hinge construction is a little special, very high construction that ends in a small base. The entire hinge base is sitting in a raised area of the same shape.

                  Hope this helps

                      Dear Mike,

I do not understand the similarity thing, the L/10´s catch opens to the right (like 90% of all badges) and the Daisies open to the left.

                      Cheers, Frank

too much to drink last night
i hear you.... i picked up a daisy last night out of my collection and of course i grabbed the one that opened to the right...you are of course correct the vast majority of the daiseys open to the left.....
Phillippe....the hinge does not have the base like yours has unfortunately,
though there are variations with the daiseys, some have the flat wire and others the round wire catches....so maybe the iabs had variations with the hinges also.

                          My Zinker

                          Hi Everyone,
I'm not much of an IAB guy, but I do have the following zinc L/10 in my possession. The hinge (no bulge)and catch (on a baseplate) are different than the others posted, so I figured I would throw this one into the fray. This catch also opens to the right. Is this an unusual hinge/catch setup for a Deschler IAB??
