        Hi Ron,

Sorry to say that your F&BL is a well made reproduction. The other one you mention sounds like it might be original, please post pics of it. As you have already noted, the different placement of the maker marks as well as the totally different type of construction between the two is the biggest give away with these.

The document however looks OK. You should post it in the paper section and let Simon and a few others check it out.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Its a pity but I think this ones a fake. Only the ones marked like your silver one (above the hook, upside down) are considered authentic. You can find this copy in the CCC book from T. Durante as well.
The certificate looks promising but married to the fake badge I´d be suspicious.

                  Ron,

Your scans are horrible, but your 2nd F&BL CCC looks good.

I found this thread before I made the mistake of purchasing this badge. Thank you gentlemen.

Jayhawk, so this CCC is definetly bad? Thats crazy! It looks pretty exceptional OTHER then the MM being out of place. These people who make fakes are getting good

This fake has been around for about 15 years now, and is the most common one encountered. Well made, but with all the information out on these, they shouldn't fool many people anymore.
