I would like to know, as a badge novice, why is there this huge difference in the price range for gold ccc's? From $1500 to $20000. I would also like some comments on the Collectors Guild, gold ccc. Jacques

A couple of my friends have done business with the Guild and always with complete satisfaction. I have never heard anything negative about the guild and they guarantee all that they sell. I typically do not do business with dealers as I prefer to buy from other collectors at a better price. Sometimes a dealer comes up with something I have been looking for and then I have to decide to either spend more money or continue the search. A couple of times the continued search went on long enough that I ended up paying dealer prices due to the item's appreciation.
          Best regards,
          Frank

81 of the gold pieces were awarded directly by Himmler to the soldiers near Ulm in 1944 or so, these gold pieces were high end pieces that go for more than 20000$.

              .

And how do you know which 81 were awarded by Himmler?

                Hi guys,

A total of 169 gold presentation pieces were awarded by either Hitler Himmler or Guderian (including 83 at Ulm). These presentation pieces are the ones that command top dollar since they are tombak, fire gilded, usually come with some decent provenance and rare as hell! Gold clasps were certainly made of zink, like the one shown on the Guild's site, but most are not verifiable or linked to recipients, and therefore command much less.

IMO, these gold CCCs are way under-appreciated when you think of how many were awarded, comparible to the RK mit Oakleaves.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Hi,

To add to Thomas' comments (and there is not much I can add!), the presentations CCCs were produced in 2 patterns by the Juncker firm and were presented in hinged black cases.

Peter's items (Collector's Guild) are consignment pieces and the prices are set by the seller.

It´s original all right, but wait for a clasp in better condition!
