    Assmann PAB

    Hi Guys !
    Just Wondering !
Has anyone ever seen an "solid" back PAB from Assmann ?
Or an unmarked "solid" back one that match the hollow one on obverse ?
Post a couple of hollow PAB`s from Assmann .

          Hi Jan,

Interesting question but I can't recall ever seeing one. Since Assmann was one of these makers marking realy everything I would be tempted to conclude that they never made solid PAB's.

But than again who will tell for sure. Did all makers switch from hollow to massive, were there makers that only produced hollow or only massive versions? Would they have kept the exact same die if they switched from one type to an other? Who knows?

Did you ever see a hollow so called Juncker type PAB?

            Hello
I have never seen a Assmann solid PAB. As for the GAB, Assmann manufactured both hollow (A behind the svaz) and solid patterns (i.e. the one with ejector marks and the "1").

              Hi Phillippe !
Nope ! I have never seen a Hollow PAB matching Juncker "Solid" back .
But for some weeks ago I saw an Hollow PAB unmarked looking like Hermann Wernstein`s PAB . Hinge and pin was the same as on normal "solid" back PAB`s .

                Hi Jan,

You didn't manage to get a picture from that badge I suppose. How did the grass and eagle looked on that badge. Were they typical üü.

On the other hand there were probably other companies using that typical Wernstein hinge. Look at this hollow IAB. It has the correct Wernstein setup but I can't link it to the known Wernstein design on there hollow IAB's. Can you?

                    Hi Phillippe !
Pics was not so good that I was able to make a perfect compare on front . but they look similar with Wernstein .
I thought only Wernstein used this hinge / pin setup . But you have a good point on that Hollow IAB you posted here . There could be an other maker that have made the hollow PAB , that one I saw .
