    silver F&BL CCC opinions

    Hello

I just recently sold this ccc snd the buyer posted it on a german forum where its claimed that it is a fake silver finish and that the needle is broken. This is the same CCC discussed in this thread...

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=298721

I had this in hand and gave it a very good lookover , I seen absolutely no evidence of refinishing nor any broken needle.

Also I had seen traces of silver finish on the reverse of the needle.

The buyer is also here on WAF and I would like him to post more fotos in case iam mistaken.

    Best
    Dion

I can't see anything wrong with the CCC - it's text book, based on your pics where does the buyer get the "broken needle" from ?!?

I am in agreement with Mike and Tom's earlier post should carry a lot of weight. I have a bronze F&BL and the only difference that I can see between mine and the silver one you post is the one I have has the die flaw in the sunburst that is so often seen on the F&BL clasps.

Hi, the finish looks ok in the pictures, it is very well preserved, which is unusual. There is the look of heat discolourment around the hinge, maybe a repair? Or it could have been done during original manufacture if the coating was applied before the hinge, which I would think is probable due to the lack of silver on the pin. What he mean by broken pin? The pin looks ok to me. Beauty of a badge by the way!

I think this is supposed to be the broken needle.

Dion, do you have a link to the MFF forum thread?

Dion, the CCC has now appeared on the GCA forum - http://www.germancombatawards.com/th...threadid=10390

And I can sort of see where the idea of the possibly repaired broken catch comes from - but the pictures on the GCA are really not clear enough to determine whether this is original silver finnish or repair.
