i was looking in Toms book at the fork tailed rosettas i call them on all 4 corner s, very detailed and nice. Iam lukewarm with CCCs but I like Fb&L and jfs. Mine doesnt have the flaw on the sun rays though.Iam Uncle Sam

I have an unmarked F&BL that is identical to yours in every way. It's zinc, with a brass pin arrangement.
It was a gold CCC (99% of the finish gone).
I got it in an antique jewellery shop on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh about 1971 for £3 ($6 USD).
The guy in the shop had the CCC, an Infantry Assault, a U-Boat Badge and something else..............all original and all '£3 each' !! He had no idea what they were.
As a young lad, the CCC was all I could afford at the time, but I think I picked the best of the 4 badges he had.

Robin, just by chance, can I see that transport clasp? does it have a smal l circle on the reverse?
3 pounds, if only we had a time machine, actually would be smarter to go further back and buy them in RMIam Uncle Sam

Dion, by that rationale, all AGMuK's fall in the same category of extaordinary finish. Very similar in design to JFS as well and JFS clasps are very common. I think if you look at S&L finishes, they are very good, but a little less quality than JFS. But design and detail wise, S&L's beat everyone hands down on the realism of the eagle and quality of the die strike IMO.

Frank's Gold Presentation 2nd pattern gold CCC? Yes, I have seen it, very nice piece. Construction wise though, these presentation CCCs aren't the best pieces either IMO. Quality of construction would have to go to AGMuK or JFS for their crimping, hardware and finish IMO. The Gold Presentation CCCs were made by Juncker, and we all know that the quality of Juncker badges was not the best when it comes to the CCC. Even some of their Luftwaffe badges are of poor quality, really goes against the grain of everyone thinking that Juncker was the premium quality badge maker of the 3rd Reich. Old myths are hard to break and Juncker still holds a special place in most collectors hearts.
All of this is up to the individual collector's opinion ofcourse.
