Juncker *Porsche* Infantry assault badge in Nickel Silver

I had a quick question about the Juncker *Porsche* Infantry assault badge in Nickel Silver on estand. I'm not questioning it's originality but I notice that all of the Junker IAB's have a worn beak to them. Is this a feature that one should expect to see on all? Was this done at the factory, possibly during the burnishing process? Just thought I'd ask.

Hello Gentlemen,
In my opinion, these badges were buffed at the factory. I have six of these Juncker badges in my collection. They are all a little different, including the catch being used. This particular exmple shows excellent detail and crispness throughout the badge. The area around the beak, while looking factory buffed, shows the same wear to the finish as the rest of the badge. My opinion is that as a result of the die stamping at that point, there may have been a sharp remaining edge, which the factory wanted smoothed off? The Juncker Luftwaffe and Heer flak badges exhibit more dramatic buffing and filing around their edges.
