I have read Philippe's draft text of most of the chapters, and they are very comprehensive and explanatory. I haven't seen the illustrations, but I know they are being chosen to complement the text.

I have the Williamson/Cross book and the research in it is very limited and the information provided is very limited. From what I know of the work the Philippe DB has done and the other work from the GCA members, Philippe's book will be very comprehensive and I'm certain it will prove to be an excellent reference.

        Hi guys,

I haven't seen Williamsons/Cross's book, but I can guarantee that Phil's book will be 10 times better and more comprehensive, no doubt about it. For a Kriegsmarine U-boat badge, my money would be on Williamson, but with the PAB, there is no better person to write that book than Philippe. The PAB is Phil's main interest and he is the only one I know that has the most PAB makers and variants in his collection. In addition, Phil constantly keeps track of the most dangerous fakes in this hobby, those produced by the Hero. Something that I doubt Gordon or Jamie keeps up with.

I haven't seen PHil's draft yet, but I know it is over 1,000 pages right now! Needless to say, it will be the most comprehensive guide on the PAB and will still be "up to date" 10 years from now.
