    Question about Close Combat Clasp

I have been sorting through my collection and sorting out pieces i bought thinking i may get into them in the future , but i have decided to stick to Iron crosses .
I am putting my neck out here as i cant remember what these are called or how much i payed for them .
I do know they have both been repaired .
I would appreciate any help on resale value within the forum . Also am i right in thinking one should be silver and the other gold or bronze .
    Thanks in advance....mark
I now know they are close combat clasps .

I think the first ccc is bad and have some doubts as to the second one. Can we see an overall shot of the reverse.

The FLL stands a chance of being good. I don't have my reference book with me but I believe it is a type 2. Tom will correct me if I'm wrong.

The other still looks bad to me. At best the backing plate has been replaced but I still beleive it is bad.

                            Hi guys,

I think both are originals. I wasn't keen on the AGMuK at first glance, but the more I look at it, I am now sure it is an original. IMO, the backplate has been replaced and the catch is probably a replacement. This type of AGMuK (1.4.2) always features a flat wire catch, so that is why the catch area looks so rough. I think they re-fit a round wire catch and soldered the heck out of it. I would be willing to bet that if we cleaned away the solder, you would find the typical rectangular slot for the flat wire catch. Backplate has been replaced, its a very poor fit and the finish is incorrect on it. And finally, the entire clasp looks like it has been buffed or cleaned abrasively, and why my initial reaction was to say it was a repro. All in all, I am sure it is an original.

The FLL is also good IMO and I am not sure that anything has been replaced. Possibly the hinge, but FLL was known to have very sloppy soldering, and with that large headed hingepin, I think its original to the clasp.

                            Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks guys , i am happy to hear those opinions , especially the good ones as they were both bought on the Estand. Can anyone give me a rough idea on their value for resale . Obviously taking condition into account . Many thanks in advance....Mark
