    General Assault Badge, opinions please

    Dear fellow collectors,

I know these hollow ones are highly faked. Would this be a good example?

    Cheers, Frank

I have one that looks similar. I can't swear that mine is authentic but I think it is. It appears to have the same type of hinge as on yours. I've seen a lot of different types of unmarked GAB's and it's sometimes hard to tell the good from the bad.

What type of hinge should it have?
        Best regards,

            Hello,

Is this of Militariaweb.com?, there have been an awful lot of these cropping up there lately.I bought one exactly the same as this there and when i got it there were lots of sharp edges and flash.
I personaly would not buy it.

              Hi Frank,
Here is a photo of one of my GAB's, hollow stamped, devoid of its finish but shows a lot of detail. I've had it for many years and never questioned it because of the detail, hinge, pin, and hook arrangement. Although it does have some sharp edges to the reverse this is not noticeable from the front. I hope it helps as a comparisson.

                  GAB,

                  Hello Munich,
As you can see at the badge of Warren the hinge has got at the attachment on the badge a sort of "foot". That's missing on your one. Also the details on the wings upper section are totally different. I've never seen this variation on authentic hollowstamped, nonmarked GAB's.
                  Just a close observation.
