Got this at an auction but not exactly sure what it is? Seems to be made of Brass and it maker marker Muller and numbered rear.

I know this tag is bogus, but has it been completely made up, or is this very losely based on something that might have existed?
A mail bag tag, a laundry bag tag, anything?

Because I always wondered: why the hell come with a large (and imo ugly) SS tag, when there is so much other interesting stuff to copy.
I guess you can't start selling these things just saying: it is SS related.

Anyone got a suggestion?

no Its based on a vivid imagination. I like the way Muller is used as a name on it to make it more vague, like using the name Schmidt on something.

I think the original idea was like a gestapo warrant disc that gturned into a w ss keychain.

Hence the number on the back.

That is why all these guys started to wear longcoats.
They needed deeper pockets for this large discs.

Have to check my records as to what i actually paid for it but wasn't too much damage.

Please let me take the opportunity as i am new too the forum to thnak you for the posotive discussion over this piece. The information is conclusive and i appreciate all your constructive opinions and time to draw the conclusion. I'll post a few more things over time for discussion as i'm always willing to learn
