    Latest Hero CCC fake

    Hi guys,

Here is the latest CCC fake from the Hero. Not a bad attempt, but it is actually not as good as the gold one he made back in February. I guess he is not learning properly or not paying enough attention to the forums these days. Also, none of his CCCs are selling from his website and keep piling up, so it looks like the word is getting out on him.

Comparing this fake to originals, you will see the absolute lack of obverse detail, especially on the eagle. The reverse is a good attempt, but it is clear that he cast this from an original FLL. The crimps are cast already in place, not stamped in afterwards like originals

                Hi guys,

Bog, here is his website: http://www.ww-collection.de

You will have to register with a username and password. It is well worth it to see the level of fakes thsi guys produces and the only way we will be able to tell his future fakes is by studying them now and keeping a database of the progression of his products. There are some originals on his website, but I would estimate that 85% of his items are his own reproductions. I have been keeping track of his fake CCC progression for 2 years and it is only recently that he has started to make some decent progress with his fakes, no doubt with the help of the CCC book. They are still quite easy to tell. CCCs haven't been discussed to death on the forums like the PABs, IABs & GABs, so they aren't that good yet. Phil has been keeping track of his fake PABs for years also and it is really thanks to his research and "homework" every week that we can tell what PABs are good and which are reproductions. He has gotten very proficient with the PABs.

                  Hi Tom

Thank you for that, all very interesting

I have your book its very handy, More helpfull to us collecotrs than the fakers. They lack the Hardware or do they?

I still think some of the Molds/dies still exist, I no you have talked about this before, Other people say that the dies were destroyed bye the allies which is very likely

However the Russians captured Berlin................They shipped every thing and anything out of that City

Hence why the only CCC i own shows Age/Corrosion/Wear.........Maybe I'm 2 parionod. But untill i get a genral understanding of this Hobby it will stay that way
