A better decision could be made if you post a close up of the top of the pin and the acorns for a start, for the moment I don't see what i want to see with this one, check the thread done quite awhile back on these for the pin and acorn detail etc, for me there is only one type, others prefer different ones but you can always sell the one that is deemed correct in the thread,

Davis just sent me some additional pictures and I can confirm this piece is an original Type 1 by G.B. It has the lesser seen round catchplate with flat wire catch, rather than the rectangular cacthplate with wire catch. All of the other aspects of the badge are classic Type 1.

Thanks so much to everyone who posted. It was a long road to find a thin pin numbered assault badge. Hey, I had to have a thin pin for the Panzer Wrap loops were to tight for a Coke bottle pin.
