JFS "style" numbered PABs

    JFS "style" numbered PABs

    Josef Feix Söhne made the numbered PABs with the more solid back of the wreath (as opposed to the Brehmer type with the hollowed out wreath), and marked them with their JFS logo.

    Then there is this variety of numbered PAB which is the same as the JFS-marked badges, but unmarked. IF JFS made these badges as well, why didn't they mark them? If JFS didn't make these unmarked badges, who did?

            Hi Greg,

            The unmarked ones maybe were sold by a different or smaller firm that did not want to invest in major tooling for these badges, Juncker did this with there Pilot badges, so that is all I can think of that makes sense.

              Greg,

              The most likely explanation is that the Wehrmacht required all issue badges to be unmarked by regulation. Only privately purchased badges were allowed to be marked. Another alternative is that Feix sold badges to other companies for resale to tailor shops or possibly even the Army.

              Regardless, they are handsome badges!
