Hi Tony,
I think the pics are putting people off.
From the first obverse pic, my first impression was that the eagle was cast and the number box was strange. The reverse of the eagle in post#s 8 & 9 also seem to show some casting effects (eg soft around the wing cut-outs, excess flashing on the granade) however the reverse hardware, rivets, maker mark and RK "bubbling" appear to be correct. So without being able to examine it I'd lean towards it being genuine.

Hi Tony, I agree with Mike's analysis. The piece looks good in some respects and bad in others. Can we see a close-up picture of the side of the catch. This picture will be able to answer if the badge is an original. best wishes,
