What does one look for when looking at the Panzer assault badge (maker marked R.S.&S.), the Minesweeper badge (unmarked) the Krim shield (paper backing w/clasps visible and the first and second class Iron cross spanges (the ones issued for having the previous award during WWI)? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Mike,
I fear that nobody will be aible to answer all the questions in this post. Would take a day's work.
I think the best thing to do is to start with some research yourself by using the "Search" function this forum offers. If you don't find what your looking for after you searched the forum then comeback and try to be as specific as possible in your question and limit each question to one award.
Good luck

Dear Mike,
Your question on the RS&S PAB is easily answered. They are all fakes, no originals from this maker exist. Somestimes the mark is mixed up with RRS (who indeed is one of the makers of the PAB). But if you really refer to RS&S (who made all sorts of other badges, just no PABs), they are all fake. The RS&S PAB fakes look like this, resembling an Aurich obverse:
