Rest assured this is an authentic badge and a very nice one aswell. unfortunately it developed a little verdigris but certainly the obverse is in very good condition.

I know that Lorenzo probably won't agree with me but in my opinion this is an early RSS IAB, with the good quality finish and the broader lettering. Very nice that you also have the case for this badge.

Personaly I like these RSS IAB's a lot, they are very heavy badges that show great detail. I only have 2 rather worn examples off (in my opinion) the later version, showing thinner lettering and finish off a lesser quality wich I post for comparison

I agree that it authentic and RSS made one the best IAB's! Great details. I agree that it is
early because of the wide catch on it. Here is mine with the later flat-wire catch.
