    Pab As

    Hi fellas,

I'm looking at an Adolf Scholze ('AS' in triangle) PAB that has the shepherd's hook catch. I'm wondering if this is right for this maker's PAB's, or did they use just the usual flat wire catch? Looking through the archives I see both styles. Did 'AS' use a round wire catch also?

The badge I'm looking at is number 4433 on this site...

Yes they used both styles. On another note the owner of that site is the biggest fae dealer in Europe and I would be leary of buying anything from him.

Just be aware that this is the infamous African Hero. He used to just refinish old worn badges but now he pumps out high quality fakes of almost every maker.

          Thank you Don again,

It looked too good to be true, absolutely mint condition!

Don's right, about 85% of the stuff he sels is fake, the pab you mention is a castfake, the guy is a pest to the hobby.

            regards Den

Thank you both for the heads-up on this site. It's becoming increasingly evident that one of the safest places to shop is right here on this forum's e-stand. At least here we have independent members policing the e-stand for fakes, should they be posted for sale, which is not often.

The general shopping rules still apply - we should be 'street-wise' shopping on any site. Some dealers throw the proverbial 'curve ball' more often than others. I'll have my guard up on this dealer from now on.

              Much appreciated!
