The CW IAB is a good one. I don't think that any faker managed to copy that look on the eagles face yet

I think the PAB is a repro. Wrong hing and pin crimp. I was looking for a specifique thread but could find it so i'll post his one to start with.

In this Thread Frank H was still doubting his silver PAB, however there is on other thread where he clearly states that the silver one has to be a fake.

Here Frank's uses his same PAB and where he was still in doubt concerning this badge in the other thread, here he simply calls it a fake.

I have to admit that I still didn't figure out these AWS PAB's completely. If there isn't any signe of the specific crimping technique as seen on the catch of the Frank's bronze one or as seen on the example shown in Tuckers book on the hinge and catch, can we then safely presume that these badges are fakes?

I also have some doubt about AWS 1942 PAB . This is a really difficult one .

Gab is just fine but the PAB is, as stated, a difficult one.
We definatly need pics of the crimping technique used on the hinge and especially on the hook. Best of all at an angle, close up so we can see how it is attached.

Hello All,

At the moment I am thinking that the PAB AWS is original, I see some things that I like, but as Skip has said a shot of the crimping would better help, but I would like to see the top of the Eagles head from behind as well.

Here is mine for a comparision, it has a lot of hand finishing to it.

If we agree that your PAB is original then I think that the one shown by Gary and also Frank's silver one are originals too

I always thought these badges had to show this crimping pattern
and when this isn't true anymore I would like to now how to distinguish between good and fake on these PAB's
