    GAB just recieved

    Hello

Got a package today that contained a Krim Shield and a GAB, courtesy of Dion The Krim has its own thread in the General awards section.
All working pins and catches make me a happy guy and this guy was a little heavier than i thought it would be

          Jono,

A good looking GAB, by an unknown maker, referenced in Franks wonderful as badge 1.28.1. It is listed as weighing 32.1 grams in the book, mine weighs in at 35.0 grams so your not alone in having a heavy one.

          Regards,

          Mark

Thanks Mark. Unfortunately i haven't got a copy of Frank's book yet but its up there on my to get list. I haven't got a scale that accurate so i can't find out the weight but i was surprised by this guy. Maybe he needs to go on a diet?
            Thanks for the info

                Hi Jono

The hinge does not look very flush to the badge, can you see any solder joining the hinge to the badge?

                regards

                  Thats impossible, I used superglue...

Everything was in order with GAB or I would have not picked it up.

                    Dion....superglue is the best

I asked because I could only see one side of the hinge. I am expecting Jono to post another shot showing it nicely soldered.

If it had been glued it could easily look like this. Compare the hinge to how the catch looks.

                    regards
                    Graeme

Yes there seems to be more solder on the catch but there is definitely some visible on the hinge. Trust me, in the hand, its very obvious that it fits in perfectly with the rest of the badge. The pic isn't too good but that is solder

                          Dion,

Did you try Reiki healing on the badge? it works wonders, I had a PAB with some zink pest on it. I put three crystal pryamids around it and chanted a few lines, hey presto I had a brand new lighter. (I thinkI may have got the incantations wrong)

Mark the only thing that worked on that badge was the garbage. It was eaten alive. Oh well millions more out there!
