My First Panzer Assault Badge - Finally!

After a couple of near-purchases of fake PAB's (Thanks for the heads-up folks!), I finally have a "good" one.

It is a silver FLL flat-back that I got from Bill Shea.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

    Hi John,

Good badge and one of the harder ones to find.
Looks like you got one with the "ersatz" type hook, usually these have a typical FLL type hook from square/oblong wire stock (just like on FLL CCCs).
    Otherwise its just dandy.

      Hi John,

I'm afraid that this is the newest bronze looking Silver fake FLL PAB

Just kidding John, nice one and lets hope that it soon will have some brothers arround. Congratulations.

Just post my example to show what the "standard" hook looks like.
On Bills you can clearly see where the hook should have been soldered into, but probably due to a lack of material they have swooped over to an alternative. I have also seen a few Coastal Art. Badges showing this trait.
Has anybody got any examples of other badges from this maker were they have also done this?

Phillippe- You got me! My heart skipped a beat until I read further down you post.

Here is an FLL PAB on Mike Pinkus' site that has the identical clasp to mine and Bill's badges. While I agree these could be period repairs, seems odd, though, that we have pics of (3) badges by the same maker with virtually IDENTICAL clasps. Possibly a variation of sorts???

Appologies to Mike P. if using his pic is not appropriate.
