    Peekhaus Bronze CCC Opinions

I have a question for you close combast clasp fanatics. I have two Peekhaus/Gablonz Bronze Close Combat Clasps. I noticed that the pins are different on these, one being grooved on the underside and the other being flat. My question is "Is one more rare or valuable than the other?" And, "If you had to keep one, which is the better one to keep?" All opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

      Hi Barry,

Well, generally the fluted pins were used on later war type clasps and were magnetic, so they have the potential to rust in the future if not stored properly. The sold, full banjo style pins were on the other hand made of tombak, so a more precious metal than steel.

In the case of the two you posted, the decision is easy, pick the one with the solid pin. Not only is it an earlier and high quality clasp, it is a rarer version of AGMuK clasp.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
